Happy 5th Birthday, Princess

Emerson Grace is five years old.
Even typing that sentence blows my mind.
She is the perfect mix of sweet and sassy and of girly girl and tomboy.
She makes us laugh daily and she truly is the apple of my and her daddy's eyes.

To celebrate her birthday, we threw her a princess party here at home.
We decorated in the colors of teal & purple and asked her guests to wear princess dresses.

The tiny princesses got crowns, wands, bead necklaces, and hairbows for their goodie bags.

Dinner was first, and it was a simple pizza party with fruit wands & carrots and dip; grape Gatorade to drink.

Then, surprise!, an unexpected guest arrived....

Elsa!
None of the girls knew she was coming so they were quite surprised.
And they had about a bazillion questions for her including
do you know the trolls?
why did you freeze Anna? IN HER HEART?
can we see your shoes?
did you know Hans was a bad guy?
where is Olaf?
can we touch you? please don't freeze us!
are you the real Elsa?
how do you know Emerson's mom?
can you come to my birthday???

They played games, sang & danced, painted faces, made wishes, blew bubbles.

Elsa even stayed for cake!

Em got lovely gifts,

and I think even the boys had fun.

It was truly magical.

Narls' 7th Minecraft Birthday Party

Have I shared pictures from Narls' birthday party? It was a boytastic time full of friends, Minecraft, laser tag, rollerskating, pizza, presents, and cake.

My boy had the best time ♥

Party details:

It was hard to find Minecraft party stuff so I had to make almost everything.

Invites were made on photoshop and printed on cardstock,

goodie bags are just green bags with the creeper image sharpied onto them (which is also what I did with the kids' party cups),

the sticker was found at a dollar store and the candy labels were made on photoshop then printed on cardstock,

the amazing & delicious cake was made by a friend,

and I also made the thank you cards on photoshop then printed on cardstock.

Epic Gymnastics Birthday Party Was Epic

So this weekend? Pretty much perfect, because we celebrated a very special little girl. My little girl! Who isn't so little anymore. She's FOUR.  If you want to get technical, she won't be four until this Thursday, March 28th, at 2:27 pm, but we celebrated with her party and her girlfriends over the weekend. On her actual birthday, she'll bring cupcakes into her preschool class, and we'll go to one of her favorite restaurants for dinner, but it'll be super low key because Friday the Easter Bunny is coming (he's making a special early delivery because the bunny and I are tight like that) and then we fly to sunny Florida bright and early Saturday morning.  Busy, busy.

But back to this weekend. Clay and Narls had some errands to run, so my girl and I had an extra special lady date filled with shopping and pampering and eating and partying. We hit up Starbucks for an americano and a hot cocoa, then Target for a fancy new birthday dress.

Next I took her to my salon where she got serious big girl treatment, complete with a new hairstyle and a hot pink mani, and we followed this up with a mommy daughter lunch at the OG to get our unlimited soup, salad, and breads on.  We took a bunch of selfies, giggled at our waiter, and talked about things. All sorts of things. I got a look at my future with my daugther, years and years of lunch dates and salon trips and talks, and it makes me deliriously happy. She makes me happy.

THEN IT WAS TIME FOR HER PARTAY. Em changed into her leotard and she and her six best girlfriends (and her brother, we can't forget about him ♥) tumbled, rolled, jumped, and laughed to their hearts' content. I may have even busted out a toe touch or two from my cheerleading days.

We finished the party with cupcakes and presents and goodie bags filled with everything you'd need for a successful day at the gym: water bottle, headbands, a medal, and a snack. It was a wonderful day and my birthday girl enjoyed every minute of it.

Six Amazing Years

My baby boy turned six years old on Saturday.
Six.
Six amazing years have flown by at lightning speed.

Clay and I surprised him by taking cupcakes to his classroom Friday afternoon. His smile was priceless.

And then Saturday morning was his party, which I'm pretty sure came straight out of his six year old dreams with a Star Wars birthday cake,

rollerskating, including his first coupleskate with the lovely Rilee K ;)

pizza and cake with his besties,

a very exciting and prosperous trip into the *~money machine~*,

awesome prezzies,

LASER TAG,

and arcade games.

We couldn't of had a better day to celebrate our boy. In fact, my husband summed it up perfectly on his facebook page.

Happy birthday again, Sweet Narls.
I cannot thank you enough for making our lives as wonderful and hilarious as only you can.

Emerson's Mermaid Party

Finally! The party post!

Emerson's 3rd birthday party was so. much. fun!

We had ocean jello with gummy fish, marshmallow pops, saltwater taffy, rice crisy bar "sushi", and goldfish crackers.

For the craft, the kiddos made their own individual oceans by mixing together water, baby oil, glitter, food coloring, shells, sand, and glitter.

My girlfriend Sarah made Em's amazing ombre seashell cake (that tasted as delicious as it looked!).

Lots of presents... then a treasure hunt!

(for this clue the kids found individual baggies of gummy sharks)

The kids absolutely adored the treasure hunt. It was so fun watching their expressions and hearing their thoughts on where the next clue might be.

Afterward we led Em to the front, where her gift from Clay and myself was.  A new bike!
She was so excited :)

It was such a perfect day, and our girl loved every minute of it.

 All the kiddos did ♥
